I believe she was also trying to get custody of Swan and Devon after their Dad died. Swan is 13 now, and like the poster above me said, she doesn't do pageants anymore. I guess after her mother died she felt the need to not do them, because it was a 'hobby' her and her mother shared.

I also read that someone set fire to their house in Alabama. Leslie still does pageants. Member since October Where did ya read that? While driven off by her mother, one month-old contestant is in a car seat with her bottle.

The mother is an attractive waitress entering middle age with hard edges. Besides Swan, the occupants of her small ranch home are her boyfriend and three other children: a toddler and a pair of teens from a previous marriage, year-old Silva and Bubba, a troubled year-old in and out of jail.

Judge for yourself whether Swan, too, is in a kind of prison, even while appearing to enjoy the pageant grind and have a loving relationship with her laser-focused mother. Trying out the major circuit, Swan goes on a losing streak despite intense practice, elaborate costumes and a stack of teased hair rising a foot above her tiny head. Time to upgrade, as she and her mother drive miles to Decatur for a make-over and crash course from King and Butler.

Soon the poorer, happier mother and gaudier, better Swan are off to Dallas for the season-ending Gingerbread Pageant. Most of all, who is being fulfilled here? Is it the daughter--who could be spending more time playing with dolls instead of being one--or her mother?

Sadly, I don't think her father and aunt will be in a custody battle any more, as her father died in , for such a young girl, she has had such a tragic life, loosing both mother and father and step father, poor girl Sami x x. I thought she was really adorable without her makeup though. I followed the link that was in the first post and read the coments that were under the pictures and there are some horrifying comments about Leslie getting pregnant at 12, of course we dont know if these are true, but there are some not nice remarks, and strong language used, just to warn those who may be offended if the choose to read it Sami x x.
