What if digital
After the converters, in fact, after the quantizer portion of the converters, the signal becomes digital, and together with the subsequent FPGA or ASIC, we called this the digital IF stage.
The common term for individual digital signal processing blocks in this stage is the DUC digital upconverter for T x path and the DDC digital downconverter for R x path. An exception is in a direct RF architecture where data converters sample RF signals directly, so the analog IF stage will be omitted and the signal chain will consist of the RF stage and digital IF stage only.
A typical DDC module includes the carrier selection, frequency downconverter, filter, and decimator. These function blocks work in sequence or can be bypassed respectively and finally generate a complex signal at dc or a real signal based on the requirements of the following FPGA or ASIC with lower sampling rates. A typical DUC module includes interpolation, a filter, a frequency upconverter, and a carrier combiner. Independent DDCs and DUCs requires dealing with multiple carriers in parallel and combining them together before outputting the transmission signal or separating them in the received signal.
In the R x chain, higher sampling rates are necessary to avoid signal aliasing, easy analog filter design, and to provide wider signal band. To choose the desired carriers from interferences blockers and other carriers , the output frequency of an NCO is mixed with input IF signal to shift the desired carriers to dc.
An Interview With Robert Nelms. In this episode, Kim talks with Robert Nelms of Assurant about the importance of empathy when it comes to digital strategy and leadership. In this episode, they discuss how strategy and execution are often misunderstood in digital and explain how to bring them together to move faster.
An Interview with Arvind Murali. An Interview with Jeff Small. Kim interviews Jeff Small, Director of Mobile Product Strategy at Perficient about the evolution of digital product management and how organizations can think about digital products as a transformational strategy.
An Interview with Jon Bostock. In a world where retail has changed and consumers remain at home, how do brands reimagine the task of getting products to customers?
No barrier to entry. Whatever the size of your business, the progress of your transformation or your technological and financial means, you can set your path to move towards greater digital maturity. The new Digital Maturity Benchmark diagnostic tool gives you the opportunity to evaluate the level of digital maturity of your company and to define a plan of action adapted to your needs.
There is no point in aiming at the highest level "multi-moment" : it represents the state of the art of the industry today on most issues, and the target to reach in a few years.
The key is to progress at your own pace, consistent with your business objectives e. Invest in the few dimensions that matter, to move the cursor of maturity on the categories that will have the greatest impact for you. Draw your own way of progress with your agency and your partners. On which dimensions will you progress? Which ones do you want to prioritise?
Remove the steps that do not concern you and focus on the ones that will make the difference for you. With agility. Digital transformation is a step into the unknown. It is neither easy nor comfortable. It asks you, day after day, to leave your comfort zone and to try new things. Or you decide to be the audience and appear inside your digital world. For example, Expandiverse technology includes a workaround to death. Would you consider enjoying multiple lives in parallel?
In the Expandiverse your life is truly yours. The pyramid of scarcity: Scarce knowledge, scarce resources, scarce opportunities, and scarce education have kept society as a pyramid.
Too many are stuck, educated, aware, capable and connected — yet locked in a limited future instead of free to soar.
But in the Expandiverse, all bets are off and all your digital lives are on. Something else Expandiverse technology offers is called Active Knowledge. What if the best knowledge, tools, resources and opportunities to succeed could be delivered as part of what we do every day, as we use our screens? Everyone could become able to perform as well as the best in the world. Then, with a universal interface, everyone could run their entire Expandiverse from everywhere. Yes, you will be a global person who connects everywhere.
And yes, the whole world and its best knowledge and resources will be local to you, at your fingertips, under your control. Should we begin the journey into a digital world where everyone could choose to be their best, where greatness could be normal? As our digital world grows, devices will have to Expand until your devices can serve you totally. Unlike any generation before in history, we know how to design and build our dreams.
Expand your mind, and expand your future. Dan Abelow is an American inventor, author, speaker and technology consultant. Skip Article Header. Skip to: Start of Article. One day greatness will be in our grasp. But rather than waiting, can we reach it now?
Clearly, there is room to dream about new technology.
