Paranormal activity 2 does anyone die

I understood—at least to a degree—the popularity of the first film, since it was slightly novel. And the whole fake-documentary subgenre seems to have a built-in appeal to audiences who have been conditioned by reality TV to like this sort of thing.

Well, this movie is pretty much just more of the same. I suppose calling it Paranormal Activity 0. He even had a symphony no. Paranormal Activity 2 is about the virtually identical haunting of Kristi Sprague Grayden , the sister of Katie Katie Featherston from the first film. Paranormal Activity 2 clues us in early on with the ominous title that we are 60 days away from the death of Micah Sloat, meaning 60 days from the ending of Paranormal Activity.

Director Oren Peli will be the first one to tell you that he never planned on Paranormal Activity being anything more than a one-shot film. His low-budget debut feature, filmed in his own home, told a contained story with a definite beginning, middle and end. In short, a young man and woman, Micah and Katie, realize that something strange is going on inside their home while they sleep, so they decide to start filming their bedroom after they turn the lights out each night.

A demonic entity eventually presents itself, possessing Katie. A possessed Katie kills Micah. A police officer arrives, shooting and killing Katie.

At least, this was the ending to the film when it initially premiered back in Peli remained on board as producer of Paranormal Activity 2 , released in Surprisingly, Katie pops up at a certain point, cluing us into the fact that this sequel is actually for the most part a prequel to Paranormal Activity.

Why was Katie being targeted in the first film? And what was with that burnt childhood photo in her attic? Paranormal Activity 2 provides compelling answers to these questions. Does that mean the noises Katie and Micah heard on the first of their nightmare nights were actually Daniel breaking in and spreading the curse? Chilling to think about. Ultimately, Paranormal Activity 2 catches up to the events of the first film, picking up precisely where it left off in the final act.

The demon has finally collected on the deal it made decades prior, and new questions are left for future sequels. For starters, what the hell is a demonically possessed Katie now going to do with the baby?! Writer in the horror community since Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Ali hears noises and eventually examines the basement door and finds it covered in scratches. She also sees a word, Meus Latin for "Mine" , scratched into it.

Ali goes upstairs to check on Hunter, and sees Kristi in his room, with a strange bite mark on her leg. Ali phones Dan, begging him to come home, saying "There's something wrong with Kristi". When he arrives, Ali, who has watched the security tapes from the night before, begs him to view the footage of Kristi's attack. After watching the tape, he immediately calls Martine, who prepares a cross to exorcise the demon; Kristi will have no memory of having been possessed.

Dan tells Ali he is going to pass the demon onto Katie so that Kristi and Hunter will be saved. Ali begs him not to because it is unfair to Katie, but Dan sees no other way to save his wife and son. That night, when Dan tries to use the cross on Kristi, she attacks him and the house lights all go out. Using the handheld camera's night vision, he finds Kristi and Hunter have disappeared.

Furniture begins toppling over, and the chandeliers shake. Dan chases Kristi into the basement, where she attacks him. He touches her with the cross, causing her to collapse. The ground rumbles and Dan hears demonic growls and roars, until finally the shaking stops. The wedding clothes upset Julie and she snatched the veil off Kristi's head.

Now, depending on how you interpret the scene in PA2 when adult Kristi is dragged into the basement, and the word "Meus" Latin for "Mine" is scratched into the door, Kristi could've very well been married off to the demon that night - or the girls could've been "prepared" for the eventual time when they would come of birthing age Katie referenced that she was haunted all throughout her teenage years during PA1 , remember.

Another possibility is that the girls were led upstairs to be mind-wiped of all the events they experienced through some spell. To be honest, with part of the story still unexplained the teenage years of the girls , we can only speculate - though some kind of unholy bonding and mind-wipe ceremony is the most likely answer.

This is the big question hanging over this franchise: Why the demon want only a male heir or more specifically his soul. Is it to possess him or sacrifice him? Well, demon mythology is a long and convoluted thing, but the bottom line in terms of these Paranormal Activity films is: We don't know yet.

What we DO know is that there was a contract struck between some witches and a demon, and that demon has been waiting a long time to collect on the deal. Now that it has Hunter, we're not sure what it plans to do with him - but we know that it can't be good. If it sacrifices a baby for the sake of returning to Earth, that's bad. If it possesses Hunter and tries to spread its demon seed using his body, also pretty bad.

Either way, the next films in the series will surely reveal the answer. Does Julie the mom die at the end of Paranormal Activity 3?
